Guinea-Bissau: Bissau Markets

Just like anywhere else in West Africa, Bissau has markets pretty much all over the town – there is a big one in the center, some more nearby, and another large one near the port. Shopping in a store doesn’t exist as such, everything is sold and bought at the marketplaces – from vegetable to fish (a lot of fish) to clothing, auto parts, and so on. The Bissau markets were fantastic – lively, friendly people, everyone smiling, and tons of interesting things on offer. People’s clothing was even more colorful at times than fruits and vegetables they were selling. And of course the most interesting was seeing and tasting the cashew nuts (the main export of Guinea-Bissau).
