Guyana: Georgetown – Bourda Market
Wake up early to see and experience the Bourda fresh fruit and vegetable market in the heart of Georgetown, the Guyanese capital, that opens as early as 5-6am. Taking up several city blocks, the open air marketplace is a collection of disorganized stalls and sellers touting their produce. Tropical fruits and exotic vegetables, peppers of all shapes and sizes, weird fish from the local rivers. Plenty of sketchy and intoxicated characters roaming around and one seller lady yelled at us “what are you doing walking around here with your cellphones, this is Guyana, you gonna get robbed and killed”.
