Hawaii/Oahu: Waikiki Beach

Waikiki Beach is often considered one of the most famous in the world – it’s a nice curve of yellow sand backed by hi-rise hotels. All the bars, restaurants and shopping is right here as well. Plenty of sunbathers, paddle boarders, surfers, seemingly homeless dreadlocks-haired beach bums, and fully-dressed Japanese tourists (either shopping or taking pictures of shops). It’s not the most beautiful beach by any means, and it ain’t Copacabana or Bondi, but it’s still an impressive urban beach and a happening place. On the east side, there is the Diamondhead – a crater of an extinct volcano.
