Iceland: Grindavik

Grindavik used to be a small town in the south of Reykjanes Peninsula until 2023 of roughly 3000 people. Until 2023 when a nearby volcanic vent flooded the town with rivers of red-hot lava. The multiple and continuous lava flows and eruptions in the last three years have caused significant disruption through earthquakes and evacuations.
