Iceland: Grundarfjordur
Grundarfjordur is another beautiful tiny town on the Snaefellsness peninsula with stunning nature around it. Just outside town is one of the most famous mountains in Iceland – Kirkjufell – visible from all angles in town (in clear weather). Kirkjufell means Church Mountain, named for it refers to its majestic size, iconic shape and the freestanding form of the mountain, right in the water’s edge.
