Iceland: Hvaleyri Old Abandoned Herring Factory
Today, the tiny fishing village of Hvalteyri has only 45 inhabitants, but in the 1960s, this was the sight of the biggest herring producing factory in Iceland. The sight is abandoned with remnants of herring production on display. The building itself is supposedly used by local artists, but upon closer exploration it turned out to be absolutely avant-garde of avant-garde of audio-visual trash imaginable (probably even Picasso would cringe) – empty halls with a couple skulls hanging and some projection movie blasting horrors of hell.
