India: Delhi – Chandni Chowk Bazaars
Just outside the Red Fort in Old Delhi lies the insane jigsaw of the Chandni Chowk bazaars – one of the most congested, colorful, and insane markets in India. People walking, motorbikes zigzagging, bicycle rickshaws pulling their overloaded carts, men carrying sacks of rice, women shopping for bridal wear, cows randomly eating trash, and spices permeating the air. Every super narrow street here is dedicated to specialty shops – gold, bridal, silk, spices, metal, paper, and so on and so forth. To say it’s the ultimate cacophony of life would be an understatement. There is also a tiny narrow residential street hidden in an alleyway which has houses that are over 400-500 years old with beautiful arches doorways.
