India: Kanha NP – More Game Drives
Kanha is a large national park and there is a more remote area deep inside the park that is a an elevated flat plateau with wide open grasslands and different habitats. Didn’t see any tigers here but got to see an extremely rare Black Buck, a true antelope and the only antelope species in India. It was identified and given its name by the great Swedish biologist Karl Linnaeus all the way back in 1758, he is the guy who actually invented the whole family/genius/species classification system of both animals and plants. Black buck really looks like a classic African savanna antelope and was near exaction in India but is now very slowly recovering. Besides them, there were plenty of deer in the open grasslands and even some working elephants.
