Ireland: Cork

Cork is the second largest city in Ireland, founded back in 6th century. While the city is quite large – key attraction is the old town, concentrated in a labyrinth of lanes that sit on the central island between the two channels of the River Lee. Huguenot Quarter is one core area, settled in the late 17th and early 18th centuries by French Huguenot refugees. Parallel to it is the Pail Street full of 18th century houses. Lots of restaurant and bars, old storefronts, and plenty of inebriated people come sunset time. Most of the streets in the old town are pedestrian.
