Israel: Jerusalem – Jerusalem Archaelogical Park
With access to the Temple Mount closed due to holidays as well as unrest, the next best thing is the Archaeological Park – a vast area between the southern wall of the Temple Mount and the city walls – with no crowds. You can get right up to the walls, see ancient columns and rocks of the old temple, get a close look at the Al Aqsa Mosque (third holiest place in Islam), and wall on the city walls.
