Italy: Amalfi Coast
Amalfi Coast is world famous for its beauty – it stretches along the southern edge of the Sorrentine Peninsula for 50km – a stunning coastline with dramatic cliffs, pastel-colored villages, crystal-clear waters, insane traffic, and surreal views (if you can find a spot to stop and admire it). This is one of the most sought after drives – the Amalfi Drive (aka SS163) – but with the crazy turns and switchbacks, narrow lane, traffic jams, and crazy drivers, it’s almost impossible to focus on admiring it. Key towns include Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and Praiano- Positano with its steep colorful streets, Amalfi with its historic cathedral, Ravello with its panoramic views, and Praiano with a quieter vibe. The end point is Sorrento, perfect for an incredible sunset!
