Italy: Urbino
Urbino is a historic city in the Marche region of Italy, famous for its Renaissance architecture. It’s a UNESCO world Heritage site. The city sits in a prominent hill and all the streets are somewhat upward sloping. At the highest point sits the Palazzo Ducale and in the city center stands the massive Urbino Cathedral . Plenty of narrow cobblestone streets radiate in all directions. Urbino is also the birthplace of the famous painter Raphael and his house is now a museum.
