Ivory Coast: Abidjan – Le Plateau
Plateau is the heart of Abidjan – the business and financial center. Ivory Coast is one of the most economically developed countries in the West Africa and it clearly shows – modernist buildings, skyscrapers (more or less), banks and hotels. One of the most famous building in the Le Plateau Discrtoct is Le Pyramide – a futuristic tower with bizarre architecture. Le Plateau is located over a hilly area of Abidjan so the streets are steep. I got stopped by police for taking pictures of buildings, it took 1/2 hour of explaining and checking on their part. For some reason, they wanted to take my Lonely Planet but that didn’t fly.
