Ivory Coast/Guinea: Road from Man to Nzerekore

The road from Man in the Ivory Coast to Nzerekore in Guinea is around 210 km and takes 4 hours (plus whatever you spend at the border when the Guinean side is going to give a total hell). On the Ivory Coast side – it’s a beautiful road in excellent condition with spectacular scenery of the Nimba Reserve national park, which is actually a UNESCO WHS. Once you cross into Guinea – the tar ends, and an absolutely shitshow of potholes, dust, and occasional cocoa farms begins. Nzerekore itself is somewhat akin to a Mad Max destination.
