Ivory Coast: Notre Dame de la Garde de Bonoua Cathedral
Another bizarre church in Ivory Coast – Notre Dame de la Garde de Bonoua is located in Lagunes half way between Grand Bassam and Assinee. The circular church is located on a hill with panoramic views. The building is stunning in every way – the windows resemble leaves and trees and rotate on hinges to let the air in. The glass is multiculor creating a total kaleidoscope atmosphere when inside. The ceiling is cover with hundreds of banners.
