Japan/Honshu: Arashiyama – Bamboo Grove

Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is one of the most photographed places in a small picturesque community northwest of the city (another train ride to get here). A natural forest of bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) occur here and the pegs cut through it make for iconic “green domes of bamboo” pictures”. The place is very touristy and very crowded and you basically have zero chance to photograph without people, but the setting is beautiful and unique.
