Jeju Island: Hyeopjae & Gwagjig Beaches
While most of east and south coasts beaches on Jeju are black sand and rocky, the west coast offers two stunning crystal white sand beaches with azure waters, offshore islands, and black lava rocks for complete contrast. Just truly stunning views! Koreans in their majority are not a beach going nation, as tanned skin is considered unattractive vs snowy white – so many people are sort of fully dressed on the beach. And of course everyone is with selfie sticks strikes a pose. Another thing peculiar on Jeju – almost every beach has a dozen or so stone statues on it.
