Kamchatka (Russia): Kurilskoye Lake – Bears Eating Salmon
Kamchatka Brown bears spend most of their days fishing for sockeye salmon in the lake – dive in the water, and then come up with a large salmon in their front paws. Then the fish is ripped apart using teeth and long claws – more then 30 fish are eaten per day. Interestingly, the bears mostly go for salmon head and skin – body parts that contain the highest amount of fat.
