Kenya: Mount Kenya – Vertical Bogs

Vertical bogs surround Mt Kenya at elevations of 11-13000 feet. It’s a bizarre environment where you are actually going up (or down) at quite a steep degree and yet the ground is all bogs and tussocks. You literally have to plan every step and sometime retrace your steps after hitting an impassable wet dead end. Wrong moves usually end up in knee-deep mud experience or worse – ass-deep in the mud.
