Kuwait: Kuwaiti Food Recap
Kuwaiti food is a mix of classic Arabic fair with elements of Iraqi and Iranian cuisine. The most famous local fish is machboos – mutton with rice, as well as mutabbaq – butterflied and grilled fish like grouper. Also truly Kuwaiti is the traditional flatbread called kibbuz – a huge round piece and absolutely delicious. Biryani and similar rice dishes are common, as are grilled kebab meats. And of course dates – there are mountains of dates of all shapes and sizes and flavors here.
