Kyrgyzstan: Kokomeren Gorge & Canyon
One of the most beautiful roads in Kyrgyzstan is the one through the Kokomeren Gorge where the Kokomeren River has Garces a spectacular canyon. The road is mostly gravel and rough at times but the views are stunning. The gorge has multicolored slopes and rock – with seemingly fifty shades of red, orange, ochre, brown and so on. Due to the graph due characteristics, this area is also known for rock slides when entire slopes of the mountains just collapse down, and you can see sites of recent and older slides all along the way. In the summer, the river is a popular whitewater rafting spot.
