When somebody thinks of Latvian good – what comes to mind? Sprats – these small smoked fish and you eat with black bread. It’s quintessential Latvia! Other things includes salmon, several pork dishes, soup made from sorrel grass and quail egg, raw and smoked trout, lamb, good craft beers. Another uniquely Latvian thing is the world famous Riga Black Balsam – a strong grass-infused liquor that is pitch black in color and has like a gazilillion medicinal properties.
