Lesotho: Lesotho Villages
Lesotho is populated by Basotho people, a homogeneous ethnic group comprising 97% of the country’s population. Except for the capital of Maseru, most population is rural, living in picturesque villages dotting the mountains in this highest elevation country in the world. It almost looks and feels like Switzerland or Scotland at times except for the Basotho traditional houses. The traditional houses have a unique round shape and thatched roofs and ultra bright blue doors and window frames. The villages are located in mountain slopes or in deep valleys near mountain streams and lakes. Super picturesque!
