Madagascar: Caves & bats at Ankarana National Park
Several massive caves and subterranean passages and rivers lie below Ankarana National Park. This one cave we went in featured four species of bats, including massive flying foxes, giant cave spiders larger than my hand (didn’t grab them since apparently they are venomous), and spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. The cave entrance alone was stupendously grand with a massive dome and exotic vegetation.
