Madagascar: Hiking in Antasibe-Mantadia National Park
Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is actually a combo of two parks: Mantadia is a large primary rain forest that is rarely visited and takes an awful mud road to get to (we got stuck 3 times). Andasibe is a smaller and more accessible park. Boyh had one of the most spectacular rainforests I have ever seen – massive trees, green moss, orchids (more grow in Madagascar than in the entire rest of Africa), awesome lemurs (next post), tropical birds and insects, and spectacular views of endless canopy. It’s hilly, so hiking is a demanding up and down in slippery clayish soil.
