Madagascar: Madagascar Hissing Cockroach
Madagascar hissing cockroach is not your average cockroach and is actually often seen as a pet outside its home country. These are big insects of up to 12cm/5in that live in old logs in the forests. They are flightless and usually solitary and not that easy to find. When disturbed, they produce very loud shrieking hissing sound as a defense mechanism (I still grabbed him though).
