Madagascar: Reserve Peyrieras

There is a small reserve about a couple of hours drive from Antananarivo that’s called Reserve Peyrieras aka Peyrieras Reptile Reserve. Here you can get a total reptile overload – dozens of chameleons, dozens of frogs, dozens of various geckos, and even some snakes and insects. It’s particularly famous for displaying many of Madagascar’s iconic chameleon species, including the largest (Parson’s chameleon) and smallest (Brookesia species) in the world. You get a lot of rare species here, you can hold them, have them climb on your arms and shoulders, and you can watch them for hours!
