Madagascar: Sandstone landscapes of Isalo National Park

There were moments when I thought I am in Utah – sandstone cliffs, deep slot canyons and waterfalls, dry desert flora. Isalo is a massive national park in the south central part of Madagascar and covers a spectacular landscape of sandstone gorges. A 12km hike of up and downs in the heat wasn’t the easiest one but seeing the natural beauty was worth it.
