Malawi: Hiking the Zomba Plateau
Zomba Plateau is a single mountain rising above the rest of the landscape in the heart of the Shire Highlands. It’s a 2000 meter-high flat-top mountain that offers incredible hiking opportunities in a pristine yet not endemic forest. There are many rare trees and about 60 orchid species and many lilies that flourish in this cool and moist high-elevation environment. It took a good 18km hike to explore the heart of the plateau and its eastern rim.
