Malawi: Majete NP – Makhanga Waterhole
During the height of the dry season, the temperature soar at Majete Reserve and animals seek water. The park has bored several artificial waterholes in different areas of the reserve and animals come here throughout the day in droves. Makhanga Waterhole is one of the most famous, it has a hide built next to it and you can spend hours after hours watching wildlife come and go throughout the day and evening. We saw tons of animals – kudu, bushbuck, waterbuck, giraffes, warthogs, vultures, impalas, nyalas, hyenas, and much more. At one point – there were 8 species in one shot. Plus geckos at the hide!
