Malaysia/Sabah: Kinabalu NP – Flora & Fauna

Mount Kinabalu is world-renown for the diversity of the flora on its slopes – as you climb up you go through several different zones. Over 50% of the plants are endemic and the diversity of orchids (over 1200 species) and ferns (over 500 species) is mind-blowing. But the best are pitcher plants – Mount Kinabalu has the world’s largest assortment of carnivorous pitcher plants, some up to a meter in diameter, full of toxic digestive liquids.
