Maldives: Seaplanes of Trans Maldivian Airways

One of the adventures is flying by sea planes. Being an archipelago of far flung atolls, Maldives main way of transportation is by air with landing only possible on water as the land is scarce. Trans Maldivian Airways is world’s largest operator of seaplanes – 44 of them – constantly hopping between all the resorts and islands. The planes are tiny with only a few rows of seat and no security required, the pilots’ door is always open.
