Mallorca: Palma de Mallorca – Inside the Palma Cathedral
The Palma Cathedral is know as the “Cathedral of Light”: there are 61 massive stained-glass windows pouring the rose-hued light in the columned interior. The pillars supporting the roof are some of the slimmest load-bearing pillars in the world. During the 1901 restoration of the massive cathedral, Gaudi was invited to contribute – the architect created a naturalistic crown-of-thorns canopy with fish and other creatures depicted all around the wall.
