Malta: Ggantija Temples
Gozo also has its own megalithic temple UNESCO-listed site – Ggantija Temples. The two temples were erected around 3600–2500 BC, older then the ones on the island of Malta, and world’s second oldest made-made religious structure after the Gobeklitepe in Turkey. It’s thought that the temples represent ceremonial site related to fertility, as numerous sculptures found on site allude to (the museum displays many of the items and explains the history in detail).
