Melilla: Plaza de Espana & Parque Hernandez
Beneath the fortress of the old town lies the new town and the central location belongs to the atmospheric Plaza de Espana. This is the heart of Melilla – a circular square surrounded by monumental buildings of Townhall, Casino Militar, Bank of Spain, and a couple more, with a Heroes Monument in the middle. Next to Plaza is a large rectangular Parque Hernandez with beautiful tiled walkways and swaying palms.
