Mexico/Baja Sur: Cabo San Lucas – El Arco
The main attraction in Cabo San Lucas is El Arco aka the Arch of Cabo at the southernmost tip of the peninsula. It’s also often referred to as Land’s End. It’s here that the Pacific Ocean meets the waters of the Sea of Cortes of the Gulf of California. The limestone arch is spectacular and was formed from constant erosion by the pounding waves. The rocks around are full of sea lions and further into the ocean you could spot spouts and backs of whales, most likely grey whales this time of the year. Absolutely spectacular, although the ride is a bit rough as the rocks act as wave breakers creating riptide currents. The arch is only accessible by sea and it also separates two spectacular beaches – Lovers Beach and Divorce Beach.
