Micronesia: Driving around Kosrae
While the road doesn’t go all the way around the island, you can circumnavigate roughly 3/4 of it, it takes less then an hour. Everywhere along the way you get verdant sharp peaks of volcanic mountains on one side and the ocean of the other. The tides are quite pronounced here, so you can have a wide sandy or stony beach or completely covered by water up to the road. Several inland detours provide spectacular panoramic views, while major settlements have beautiful churches. And of course everywhere you go – the friendliest and nicest people of the entire Pacific (although they do drive really really slow in really junky Japanese right-wheeled cars on the right side of the road).
