Mongolia: Gobi Desert – Flora & Fauna
Gobi desert is for the most part covered by plants that are adapted to little water and a lot of sun – waxy needle-like leaves and low statute. Some are adapted to even growing in the moving sands of the dunes. Animals are also “modified” for the desert environment – lizards are mimicking the soil colors, rabbits and hedgehogs have oversized ears for cooling off. The vast desert has some rare animals as well – ibexes, argali sheep, wild camels, and even snow leopard in the mountains but those are not easy to find it spot.
