Mozambique: Casa de Ferro aka Iron House
Case de Ferro or Iron House was designed and pre-fabricated entirely in Belgium in 1892, fully out of cast iron. The designer was none other but Gustave Eiffel. It was transported and erected in without any consideration to the local climate – it turned into a total hot oven and hence couldn’t possibly be lived it. Ever! It’s a three-story all-metal structure – almost like a real world children’s assembly toy. It is now a museum.
