Mozambique: Santa Carolina Island – Around the Island
Santa Carolina is one of the five islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago, the northerner and the smallest. It is completely uninhabited and is in its entirety a national park. And it’s a total paradise and worth a long and rough ride to it – no people, pristine white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant and healthy coral reefs jam-packed with fish right offshore! Lots of endangered dugongs and turtles are commonly spotted here as well. The island is quite small and you can explore a large part of it on foot, or just relax on its absolutely stunning white beaches and watch the water ebb and flow with tides, which are quite strong here.
