Myanmar: Cruising Ayeyarwady River
Ayeyarwady (or Irrawady) is the main river of Myabmar and like Nile in Egypt and Mekong in Laos, it’s an absolute lifeline of the country. The river dissects the country vertically and one can cruise from north to south, or Mandalay to Yangon for days. It’s a very wide muddy fast flowing river with very few bridges and very many boats of all shapes and size plowing it.
