Myanmar: Bagan – Exploring Western Bagan Temples

Another full day of temple exploration, this time along the roads on the western side of the Bagan Plain. Temples here are smaller and more tucked away then the central sites but many offer amazing treasures inside – unique statues, elaborate frescos, small window niches shining light through, and even hidden passageways to rooftops and second floors. Except for one highly revered white temple housing a reclining Buddha (in rather crammed space), the rest of the temples and pagodas have hardly any tourists and you can have them all to yourself.
