Nagorno-Karabakh: Ganzarat Monastery

Ganzasar is a 10th century Armenian monastery sitting on clifftop and surrounded by defensive walls. It is the most important religious monument in Nagorno-Karabakh and the seat of the Archbishop of Artsakh (another name for Nagorno-Karabakh). A winding mountain road leads up to the top of the cliff, where the monastery rises with panoramic views of the fog smothered mountains. One of the wall contains an unexplored Azeri rocker from being shelled in the 1992 war.
