Namibia: Etosha NP – Birds
During rainy season you can count up to 340 bird species in Etosha NP, one-third of which are migratory. If you are a birder this is the right time to come. Etosha’s pan serves as an important breeding ground for lesser and greater flamingos. Unfortunately, we weren’t lucky enough to see them, but we spotted a number of grey goaway birds, common ostriches with their offsprings, Egyptian geese, blacksmith lapwing, red-billed spurfowl, marabou storks, helmeted guineafowl, rufous-naped larks, african grey hornbill, grey hawk, peregrine falcon, european beeetear, common raven, tree pipit, northern black korhaan, white-browed sparrow weaver, black kite, southern masked weaver, and more.
