Namibia: Sossusvlei

Sossusvlei is surreal! If there is any location on Earth that feels like a different planet – it’s most definitely here and it’s probably what Mars looks like. Sossusvlei is actually a salt and clay pan surrounded by bright red shifting dunes. Sossusvlei is a large area and there are many diffeerent attractions here – climbing the red dunes (Big Daddy Dune 325 m high), 4WD-ing in shifting sand, or watching the sunset light the dunes on fire. But the most interest part of Sossusvlei is the Deadvlei, another salt and clay pan that actually has some dead tree trunks still stand making for otherworldly landscape and awesome photography
