Nepal: Evening walk in Chitwan National Park
It took a whole day driving across Nepal to get to the southern lowlands and the world famous jungles of the Chitwan National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a natural paradise (or advertised as such). The park protects a massive march, river, and tropical forest system full of wildlife including tigers, rhinos, elephants, crocs and so much more. On an evening walk along one of the river, I came across a wild Asian elephant, gharial (a relative of crocodile), hawk deer, barking deer, spotted deer, mugger crocodile (all new mammal species for me) – and – drumroll! – super rare one-horned Asian rhino (next post).
