Nepal: Patan – Royal Palace of Patan
The Royal Palace Complex is the main feature facing the Latam Durbar Squate and has three main courtyards (Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk, and Keshav Narayan Chowk). Mul Chowk, the central courtyard, features a gilded statue of Yoganarendra Malla atop a pillar. Sundari Chowk is known for its stone-carved Tusha Hiti (sunken bath) with 72 intricate carvings. Finally the Keshav Narayan Chowk houses Nepal’s finest museum exhibiting priceless Hindu and Buddhist artifacts – gilded statues, detailed metalwork, traditional Newari artistry.
