New Zealand: Fiordland NP – Milford Sound & Mitre Peak
These views of the triangular Mitre Peak from the township of Milford Sound are some of the most photographed in the world. It is often cited as New Zealand’s number one tourist destination. The Mitre peak rises nearly vertically to 5560 feet / 1,690 m from the sea level of the Milford Sound. The peak consists of five separate peaks, so looking at it from shore you are likely to see doubles and think you’ve gone partially blind.
