New Zealand: Golden Coast – Te Waikoropupu Springs
Te Waikoropupu Springs is a small area where massive underground springs create a pool and several streams. What makes this place unique is the amazing clarity of the water – second clearest in the world – with visibility recorded of 63 m / 207 ft, second only to the Antarctic subglacial icewater. The water in the springs is a constant 11.7 °C, and the springs pump over 14 thousand liters of it per second, enough to supply the entire city of Auckland.
