New Zealand: Rotorua – Hells Gate Thermal Area

Last but not least of the several geothermal areas in Rotorua was Hell’s Gate. While lacking the fluorescent colors of other spots, the pure concentration of boiling mud pots and black cauldrons is staggering here, plus large hot lakes, dozens of fumaroles, and plenty of crystallized volcanic matter all around.
